Baylis (Gloucester) Ltd was founded in 1994. The current Baylis Group came into being seven years ago following the purchase of three Haines & Strange Vauxhall outlets in Cheltenham, Cirencester and Stroud. This increased the network of branches to six, following the earlier acquisition of the former Greig’s garages in Hereford and Ross on Wye.
A recent programme of modernisation and improvement has seen the complete refurbishment of our branches in Stroud, Cirencester, Ross and Gloucester. A brand-new purpose built facility was constructed in Hereford early in 2005, and a similar re-location is scheduled to take place for Cheltenham later this year.
This demonstrates a commitment to customer care by providing state-of-the-art showrooms and service reception areas, and a major investment in new technology behind the scenes.
Despite being one of the largest motor groups in the west of England, the company is still run by a local management team with Michael Baylis at the helm.
